ENTAME [2/3] – PRÉTEXTE

A pretext alludes to a forthcoming text. It contains potential without resolving uncertainties. It is a narrative open to multiple readings. It can be transcribed and reformulated, rearranged and adapted. It may take the form of a “pre-textured” textile object or the secondary argument of a conversation not yet translated into prose. It refers to apparent reality while concealing its true motives.

The exhibition at CALM brings together seven pre-textual approaches, both in the literal and figurative sense of the term, in the form of the visual and material investigations of Glen Çaçi, Vicente Lesser, Almendra Otta, Gina Proenza, Laurence Rasti, Jessy Razafimandimby, and Anaïs Wenger.
